With iShares MSCI South Korea ETF [asset ticker="EWY" mnemonic="NYSEARCA"] managing close to a 100% of the funds US investors allocate to the South Korean market, the weighting of Samsung Electronics may end up being a key differentiator with First Trust South Korea AlphaDEX Fund [asset ticker="FKO" mnemonic="NASDAQ"] a key outlier assigning just 2% to the chaebol - vs approx. 17% for [asset ticker="FLKR" mnemonic="NYSEARCA"] up to 24% for [asset ticker="EWY" mnemonic="NYSEARCA"]
Reminder – the Franklin FTSE South Korea ETF [asset ticker="FLKR" mnemonic="NYSEARCA"] lacks a full-year track record (introduced in Nov’ 17)
