Focused on mostly Brazilian companies,  'Highflyers' are very successful companies in Latin America, with international recognition for well-established firms such as aeronautic conglomerate Embraer, giant meat producer JBS or global mining concern Vale

Because of the size of their home - and continent-sized - markets, domestic highflyers such as PagsSeguro (on-line & mobile payment services), recently NASDAQ-listed digital Nu Bank and Argentina's Mercado Libre (e-commerce) attest of the high adoption rate of digital technologies, especially in commercial applications

The wild swings of some stocks listed in this theme should not deflect the investor's attention from the strong underlying potential of the fast growing consumer makets of Latin America

Financial technology firms such as StoneCo or XP might emerge as strong winners and justify bookmarking along  with further inquiry

Powerful banking groups such as Itau Unibanco or Banco Bradesco, and industrial conglomerates such as Gerdau or Suzano, are foundations of the continent's economic future

With very low trade volume of its OTC listing, retailer Magazine Luiza  - market cap $1.8 billion - has not been included in the selection

A more extensive list of Brazilian stocks on U.S. exchanges, including various ETFs issued by iShares, Franklin Templeton, VanEck, First Trust and ProShares, is also posted on Pininvest
